Okism- my new religion

September 28, 2009

The following is an explanation of my beliefs on the afterlife. It is not complete, there are a few flaws I should iron out and I’m sure I will add to it as I get older.

The mind, the conscience, our “soul” if you will, is so complex that it could never simply shut off. There must be some sort of afterlife. My belief is that when our body dies in this universe, we are reborn, however we want to be.
There is an infinite number of parallel universes, which means that everything, every idea, every story exists somewhere. After we die here, our mind takes itself to another.
When reborn, we can choose to keep our memories, or discard them, to start afresh or start with the memories of our past.
Likewise, we can choose to have versions of our friends or to meet entirely new people. And whether or not our friends will have their memories in our parallels.

Between lives, it is possible to awaken in a perfect version of this universe. By perfect I mean, nothing bad happens. It is a sort of resting area between lives. Here, we can meet up with anyone who has grown close to us and exchange stories or just enjoy company. The person we are here never ages and is just a physical representation of a 25-ish year old us.

In this life, those who are bad, truly evil people. Carry the guilt in their minds, even if they don’t think they are doing wrong. That guilt manifests itself as a sort of hellish universe after death. No-one can escape from here until they truly feel remorse for what they have done.

This cycle of death and rebirth continues, forever.

Basic ideas;
1) We are reborn into any situation we want after we die.
2) Every story, every idea, anything we can think of exists as a parallel universe.
3) Evil people are reborn in a hell like state, because of the extreme guilt in their minds. It can only be escaped by true remorse.
